Step 2: Create Your Design in Design Space

1. Open up Cricut Design Space
2. From the Home page click the New Project button in the top right. This will open up your canvas screen. 

3. With the blank canvas open, click Upload towards the bottom of the left hand Design Panel.

4. Click Upload Image

5. Click Browse

6. Go to your Downloads folder, find the file you saved earlier in Step 1 and Open it.

7. Give the file a name, then click Upload in the bottom right.

8. Select the image and then click Add To Canvas in the bottom right.

The next step is to resize it so that it fits your mug correctly.

The Cricut ceramic white mug blanks have a face that measures 3.38 x 4.33 inches. We’ll want to make it smaller than that so we can see the whole design in one go.

We’ll change the width to 3”.

9. Click Select All in the Edit Bar. Navigate to the Size tab, make sure the padlock is locked. Then type in 3 into the W input box (assuming you’re working in inches). Press Enter.

10. The next step is to Attach all of the layers together so they stay in the same position when being cut.

Now, let’s save the project.

11. Click Save in the Header Bar.

12. Give it a memorable name and click Save
