Lesson 1 of 6
In Progress

Step 1: Create the Design

1: In order to be able to start our Design, we are going to access our Design

Space application and in there we are going to click on the + New Project Green button located on the top Right corner of our screen.

2: After we clicked in there, we are going to be able to access our Blank Canvas, in where we are going to start creating our Design:

3: We are going to use the upload functionality to add our ladybug and the bee.

In the next screen you are going to browse in where you downloaded the file that we are providing:

After clicking on the upload button, the images are going to be added to your canvas:

💡Tip:  You can use the images functionality and search in there for the bees and the ladybug (take into consideration that some of the images, the ones that have the little purple star, you need to purchase them in order to be able to cut them)

4: We are going to ungroup the images so we can resize them and manage them independently:

After ungrouping them:

5: Now, we are going to select our bee, and we are going to hide the yellow circle by clicking on the eye icon ( this is just in case that you want to add another layer to do the design more 3D, that is not our case in this opportunity)

After clicking on the eye icon:

We are going to do the same with the eyes and the smile related to the bee.

6: In our design, we are going to place 2 bees and just 1 ladybug, but you can add as many of them as you want, in order to duplicate the bee, we are going to select it and then click on the duplicate button:

After duplicating the image:

💡Tip: Make sure that you selected all the elements related to the image so the whole image is duplicated and not only part of it.

7: Optional: You can resize the bees and the ladybug in any size that you want (in our case the size is perfect, but we are going to show you how to do it). You are going to select the element that you want to resize and then change the measurements for the desire ones in the size section:

💡Tip: If you do not know the exact size that you want, you can just click on one of the corners (in where those small squares are shown) and drag the image to the desire size.

8: After this, we are ready to cut our images.

In this tutorial, you are going to learn/practice the following cricut functionalities:

  • Add Shapes and Images
  • Resize Elements
  • Delete Elements
  • Attach Elements
  • Group Elements
  • Upload images
