Step 1: Create The Design
1: We are going to start this project by uploading the petal shape that we are going to use by using the upload functionality:
- petal.svg

Follow the steps in order to upload the image and add it to your canvas.

2: Now we are going to duplicate our image 3 times, in order to resize them and have 3 different sizes of petals.

3: We are going to change the measurements / size for each petal to the following sizes:
- Small Petal: W: 2.5” and H: 3.5”

- Medium Petal: W: 2.5” and H: 3.75”

- Large Petal: W: 2.75” and H: 4”

4: Now for each petal size we are going to duplicate the petal 7 times, in order to have 24 petals in total (8 for each size)

💡Tip: You can add more or less petals based on your preference, if you are adding more, considering having more crepe paper to be able to do it, the same as if you decide to do the size of each petal bigger.
5: We are going to save our Design since we are ready to cut:

6: Another option to have a peony is instead of using the foam ball, upload the image below in order to have a different center and cut it also in crepe paper:
- Peony_center.svg

Step 2: Cut The Design
1: Before start printing and cutting our design, we need to make sure that we are going to cut with the right cricut machine, in order to do this, we are going to click on Maker in the top Right Menu, next to Make Green button and in there, we are going to chose our machine, in our case we are using a Cricut Maker

💡Tip: To be able to cut Crepe paper, your machine needs to support rotary blade.
2: We are ready to start printing and cutting, so you are going to click on the MAKE green button.

3: When we are ready to cut, we are going to click on Browse All Material:

Once in there, we are going to search by the word: Crepe

💡Tip: If you click on the favorite icon next to the cricut small icon, you can easily access the material without searching for it every time.
4: In our case is Crepe, so we are going to chose Pressure Default the following configurations:

5: Now that our configurations are ready, we are going to proceed to add our crepe paper in our physical mat, you are going to use your scrapper VERY gently to make sure that you paper is straight, when you are going to add your paper into the mat, you are going to notice that the paper has lines on it, you need to make sure that those lines are vertically in your mat.

💡Tip: We do not recommend to use NEW mats with crepe paper since the mat is very sticky and the paper is very delicate, you need to use an used mat that is sticky enough to hold the paper on its place.
Step 3: Weeding
💡Warning: Crepe paper is very delicate, so when you are going to weed be very careful and patience if not the paper is going to break apart.
1: After all the different elements were cut, we are ready to start weeding, we are going to start removing the excess, you are going to see that it seems that nothing was cut, but actually it is:

2: Now, we are going to start with our petals, we suggest to start peeling from the base of the petal, so if its break a little bit you can still use it, since is going to be the part that is going to be glued:

3: We are going to repeat the process for all the different colors and the different sizes of the petals:

4: Now, we are ready to start assembling our peony!
5: If you decide to not use the ball and use the center instead, the best way to weed it is by starting from the base of it very gently.
Step 4: Assembling the Flowers
1: You are going to wrap the foam ball with the same color of your petals using hot glue:

2: Starting with the small petals, you are going to apply hot glue on the bottom of the petals, and going to start gluing them into the ball:

3: Follow by the medium petals:

4: Before starting with the largest petals, you are going to add the floral wire (inserted into the ball) and then going to wrap the wire with the largest petals:

5: If you prefer the peony to be more close, you can add some dots of glue between the layer to hold them together:

6: Also if you prefer the petals to have more movement, you can hold them all together with your hand:

7: And you have these amazing peonies that you can use to decorate any empty vase!

8: If you also decided to use the center instead of the foam ball, you are going to use hot glue to glue the base of the center to one of the floral wires and roll them over to the end and apply also hot glue at the end of the string:

9: After that you are going to apply the petals the same as you did with your foam ball, but making sure to wrap the wire with each one of the petals:

10: When you are done with all your petals, you have a different peony! You can also apply some dots of glue here to hold the petals between each other if you prefer.

You are ready to use your flowers! GREAT JOB!
