Step 1: Create The Design
1- First we are going to install the fonts that we are going to use in our design. In order to do this, you need to download the font that we are providing. After that, follow the steps that are showing on your device in order to finish the installation.
The font that we are going to use is called: PTSerifCaption and Python Script Demo:
For MacOS, the steps to install the font you have to double click on the font location, then click on install font:

💡Tip: You need to make sure that Design Space is closed before installing the new font, if not you have to close it and open it again in order to see the font listed on your Fonts types in Design Space.
2- We are going to create a new project with a blank canvas, and the first thing is to add a Square, using the shapes functionality.

We are going to resize the square to the following dimensions: W: 10.5” and H: 17.5” that is in our case the physical frame that we are going to use and we are going to change the color to match our physical frame color (this is only for visual purposes)

💡Tip: We are using an square instead a rectangle, because we need square corners and not rounded ones. Also, if your physical frame is another shape, change the dimensions and the shape accordingly.
3- We are going to upload the Mason Jar Image (mason_har.svg) by using the upload tool and following the steps in there:

After you click on the Upload Image button, you search the location in which you previously saved the image. Then you clicked on Continue button at the right bottom of your screen:

In the next screen you can change the name or add tags and then click on Upload button

Your jar is now showing in your canvas:

4- We are going to resize our jar so it’s a more accurate size based on our physical frame, in our case we are going to use: W: 5.08” and H: 8.91”

5- We are going to add some text to our jar, in our case we are going to write HOME and we are going to use the font that we installed previously:

And we are going to duplicate this word, by selecting the text and then going to Edit, and in there Duplicate.

You should have something like:

💡Tip: You can also, duplicate an element by selecting the element and in your keyboard using the following keys: Command / Ctrl + D OR you can just write it with the text functionality one more time.
6- Using, one more time the Text functionality, we are going to write: Sweet, and we are going to change the font to Phyton Script Demo, that we also installed previously:

7- Now that we have our phase, we are going to resize it and rearrange it inside our jar, like:

8- Once we like the size and how we arrange it, we are going to align them horizontally:

9- Now, we are going Attach our phrase/Text to our jar, we select all the words, and the jar and we click on Attach functionality:

After we attach them, you should be able to see something like:

💡Tip: We are doing this, because we want that the background of the text is going to be our physical frame, so make sure that the words are in CUT operation, if not change them to cut (some fonts by default are in the Print then Cut Operation)

10- Now, we are ready to start adding the flowers and leaves that we are going to cut and add to our design. By using the upload functionality (the same as the jar) we are going to add the following images and we are going to resize them with the following measurements:
- Leaves.svg
- Carnation.svg
- Carnation_petal.svg
- Rose.svg
- Daisy.svg
- Leaves: W: 2.43” and H: 2.44”
- We are going to use 3 pairs of leaves all with the same size and color

- Carnations: W: 3.91” and H: 4.33” and W: 6.36” and H: 7.65”
- We are going to use 1 of each size and the final diameter for these flowers are: 1” and 1.5” approx. respectively.

- Carnations by petals: W: 7.76” and 8.76” and W: 5.37” and H: 2.95”
- We are going to use one of each size and their final diameter is: 0.75” and 1.75” approx.

💡Tip: For this particular flower, I do not like the little circle in the middle, so you can hide it, by welding a circle over the design, to do this, you ungroup the flowers, add an small circle over the circle of the flower, weld it, proceed to do the same for all the different petals and then group them again so when you resize the elements are all resize accordingly.

- Roses: W: 4.552” and H: 3.614” and W: 8.763” and H:6.974”
- We are going to use 1 small and 2 big ones. Their final diameter is: 1” and 2.5” approx. respectively.

- Daisies: W: 6.81” and H: 6.024”, W: 7.44” and H:6.58” and W: 8.94” and H:7.90”
- We are going to use 1 of each size. Their final diameter is: 1”, 2” and 2.5” approx. respectively.

💡Tip: Remember that the size that we are arranging the flowers are based on the physical frame, also you can add more or less flowers, different sizes or other flowers that you like. Also, for the flowers, we are not going to use ANY of the green parts, because they are not going be visible, so in order to hide them or delete them you have 2 options:
A- At the moment of the cut, you just ignore the green mat in where the leaves are showing
B- You choose the flower, and then in the layers section you click on the small eye icon that is showing next to the green parts and you hide it.

After you click on the eye icon, you should see something like:

11- We are going to save our Design since we are ready to cut:

Step 2: Cut The Design
1- Before start cutting our design, we need to make sure that we are going to cut with the right cricut machine, in order to do this, we are going to click on Maker in the top Right Menu, next to Make Green button and in there, we are going to choose our machine, in our case we are using a Cricut Maker

2- We are ready to start cutting, so you are going to click on the MAKE green button.

3- We are going to click on Continue, and in there we are going to browse for the material that we are going to physically cut, in our case we have 2 different types of material:
- Vase: Is going to be Vinyl, so we are going to use the following configuration:

- Flowers and Leaves: Are going to be cardstock and all the same type, so we are going to use the following configuration:

4- We are going to use for all the different cuts, our green mat, when we have our different materials on the mats, we are going to upload them to the machine and
we are going to click on the Cut button and the machine is going to start cutting and you are going to be able to see the progress of the cut on your device screen.

💡Tip: If your blade is not new, we normally use MORE in the cutting pressure, and that is why on the screen you are going to see that says passes while is cutting.
5- After all the elements are cut, we are ready to start weeding our design.
Step 3: Weeding
1- After all the different elements were cut, we are ready to start weeding, we are going to start with our base that is pretty straight forward, we are going to remove the interior of the letters and all the borders you should have something like:

2- We are going to proceed with the flowers, first we need to gently wave and the fold our mat in order to remove first the cardstock that is not related to the flower (the excess)

And after removing the excess, we can gently start folding the mat again to peel the flower.

3- We are going to repeat the process for all the different flowers

4: And for the flowers that have petals, we are going to do the same process too:

Step 4: Assembling the Flowers
1- We are going to add a little bit of character to the different flowers, for this you can use INK, markers, paint or leave them plain if you want.
For most of them I’m going to use some ink on the borders from both sides, we really like how they look with a little bit of color on the borders, this makes a look more realistic:
Before using Ink on Daisies:

After using Ink on both sides:

Before using Ink on the roses:

After:

For the spiral carnations, we decided to use a Cricut marker in silver color on both sides, to give them a different touch:
Before using the marker:

After using the marker:

2- When we are done with the embellishment for our different flowers and leaves, we can start assembling them. So we are going to start with the ones that have a spiral shape.
CARNATIONS Spiral shape:
1- We are going to start adding some movement to our petals, for this you can use a score pen, your fingers or tweezers. You are going to hold each petal gently and you are going to use the tweezers in our case to do like a wave share to the different petals.

After doing the whole spiral you should have something similar to this:

2- When we are done with the movement of our petals, we are going to start rolling them from the outside to the inside. You can use your fingers, a score pen, a brochette stick, a pen or anything with a round shape that is going to help you roll the flowers.

When you finish the whole spiral, you should have something like this at the bottom of our flower:

And something like this at the top:

You are going to glue the bottom with the circle and press a couple of seconds. After it is well glued, you can move the petals and the flowers to arrange them a little bit as you like.

Daisies Spiral shape:
1- For the daisies there is no need to use tweezers to give some movement to the petals.
2- You are going to proceed assembling the daisies the same as with the carnations in spiral shape with the different daisies.
Roses:
1- you are going to grab each individual petal and glue the bottom of it, one side over the other, like:

After you glue all the bottoms, you should have the following:

2- We are going to separate the petals in 3 groups, big, medium and small petals. And we are going to grab our hexagon and we are going to glue the bottom of the petals into the hexagon:

3- Now, we are going to glue the medium size petals:

4- And now, we are going to proceed with the small ones:

5- We are now going to grab the 3 different flowers that are related to the Rose, to create the center of this flower.
First the smallest one, we are going to front and glue on the outer sides 2 of the parts that are facing each other, and then we are going to wrap those 2 with the other 2 petals.

Then we are going to grab the middle size one, we are going to glue the middle and place the small one over it and then we are going to wrap it with the petals:

And now, we are going to grab the biggest one and proceed the same as previously, we are going to glue the middle and then wrap the center with the the petals:

6- finally we are going to place the center over the rest of our rose, with glue in the center, you should have something like:

Carnations Petal shape:
1- After adding the embellishment, in our case some ink, we are going to grab the tweezers and we are going to generate some movements on each of the different layers of the petals:

After adding some movement you should have something like:

2- Then we are going to glue them from bottom to top (from number 1 to number 7)

After the seventh layer, you should have something like:

3: Now, you are going to grab the whole flower and kind of squeeze it all together and then with your fingers gently spread the petals from each other a little bit:

And the final result should be something like:

Step 5: Apply The Design To The Frame
1- We are going to start with our jar. Since we are using Vinyl, we can transfer it to our frame using transfer tape or by transferring it directly to the frame.
With the help of my fingers and the scraper, we were making sure that the vinyl was secure before continuing to peel the back part.

💡WARNING: In our case, my frame background did not like transfer tape, and start pulling the background out, so we have to take a different approach, and was NOT TO USE transfer tape and transfer the vinyl directly to the frame. We have to cut the design one more time in order to be able to apply it.
Please test your transfer tape alone first over your materials to ensure that when you are peeling it is not going to affect your physical frame:

2- After our mason jar was transferred, we can start applying the flowers, in our case first we accommodate the flowers over the jar until we like the way that they looked:

3- Then, using hot silicone we start adding the silicone at the bottom of each flower and start gluing them into the jar:

After all the flowers are glued, you should have something similar to:

💡Tip: Be really careful with the hot silicone, use it with caution!
4- Now, we are going to add some green with our leaves, we also applied some ink into the borders, you can add also some movement if you want:

5- At this point, it is up to you if you want to add more flowers, more greenery, some extra embellishment to the frame, like a ribbon, a bow, or just leave it like this. If you are happy with your design… YOU DID IT!!!! You created this beautiful decor!
