Lesson 4 of 5
In Progress

Step 4: Assembling the Flowers

1: We are going to add a little bit of character to some of the different flowers, for this you can use INK, markers, paint or leave them plain if you want.

For most of them I’m going to use some ink on the borders from both sides, we really like how they look with a little bit of color on the borders, this makes a look more realistic:

Below is the Flower type with and without Ink so you can see the difference:

Cone Dahlia:

1: We are going to start creating our cones, by helping us with our finger in order to bend / roll the paper and then we are going to add a dot of glue in order to glue the 2 sides of the cone, hold it with your hands a couple of seconds until they are fully glue and move to the next cone.

2: Once when we have all our cones, we are ready to start with the shape of this gorgeous flower:

3: We are going to start placing our cones on the second line from the outside to the inside

πŸ’‘Tip: If you want a bigger Dahlia or smaller one, you can play with the grid and where you are going to start.

4: Before gluing them into our guide grid / circle, we are going to flatten the bottom of the cone so it’s easier to glue them and then fits better nicely all together:

5: We are ready to start gluing them into our grid, the first row should be like this:

6: For the second row, we are going to move us one space closer to the center, and we are going to place the cones between the ones that we place on the first row and we are going to do that until we are done.

7: For the last cones next to the center, you can use a pen, or the scoring tool from cricut to help you glue the bottom of the cone to the grid:

8: And after adding all the cones you should have something like:

The dimensions of the final product is: W: 7.5” x H: 7.5”

Roses:

1: you are going to grab each individual petal and glue the bottom of it, one side over the other, like:

After you glue all the bottoms, you should have the following:

2: We are going to separate the petals into 3 groups, big, medium and small petals. And we are going to grab our circle and we are going to glue the bottom of the petals into it:

3: Now, we are going to glue the medium size petals:

4: And now, we are going to proceed with the small ones:

5: We are now going to grab the 2 different flowers that are related to the Rose, to create the center of this flower.

First the smallest one,  we are going to front and glue on the outer sides 2 of the parts that are facing each other, and then we are going to wrap those 2 with the other 2 petals.

Then we are going to grab the middle size one, we are going to glue the middle and place the small one over it and then we are going to wrap it with the petals. And now, we are going to grab the biggest one and proceed the same as previously, we are going to glue the middle and then wrap the center with the the petals:

6: finally we are going to place the center over the rest of our rose, with glue in the center, you should have something like:

The dimensions of the final product is: W: 8.5” and H: 7.5”

Flower Type:

πŸ’‘Tip: The process for this flower is very similar to the Rose one that we did previously.

1: We are going to apply some glue at the bottom of each petal and we are going to fold over the other side, the same as you did with the rose flower.

You are going to do this step with all the different pieces related to the flower.

2: We are going to start assembling the flower from the biggest piece to the small one:

The dimensions of the final product is: W: 4.5” and H: 4”

You are ready to use your flowers in any place that you like!
